Maintaining Purser Qualification - LAA/LUS

November is the last month to attend the 2015 Purser Conference for those Pursers that want to maintain their Purser qualification. The class dates for the two make-up sessions are November 10 & 11 and November 12 & 13. If you have not yet attended the 2015 Purser Conference or are not yet enrolled in a November class please contact the Training Support Desk as soon as possible to enroll if you desire to maintain your Purser qualification. 

Vacation & Sick Accrual Thresholds - LAA

Now is the time of year to ensure you are on track to accrue your eligible vacation and sick for 2015.  You can view your year-to-date hours and threshold using the HISK entry in DECS.  Remember you must be paid 420 hours during the calendar year, or an average of 35 hours per active month, in order to accrue vacation and sick hours for the year.  Also keep in mind that only paid hours in an active month (Y reflected under ACC column) count towards meeting your threshold.  Each year Flight Attendants miss accruing their vacation and sick by just a few hours.  Now is the time to plan on flying any extra trips you may need to make sure your meet your threshold.
 
Red Flag Pairings (RF) and the Unsuccessful Bidders List (UBL) - LUS

In the LUS 2013 Redbook Agreement, some differences exist between the rules applicable to the UBL award processing of regular pairings (non-RF) and the rules that are utilized for Red Flagged pairings. Pairings are Red Flagged during times of short coverage to protect the operation. Currently ISAP is not programmed to handle Red Flagged pairings; therefore, Red Flag pairings will be designated and processed via the UBL and Daily processes.

Non-Rev Travel - LAA/LUS

The recent changes resulting from PSS integration, non-rev policy alignment and a single jumpseat process have driven an increase in questions.

Can someone from Flight Service Management holding a Flight Attendant qualification be issued a cabin jumpseat ahead of a mainline AA (LAA/LUS) Flight Attendant if they are listed higher on the priority list?  

No. Mainline Flight Attendants will be accommodated in priority list order prior to Flight Service Management holding a Flight Attendant qualification. Flight Service Management personnel holding a Flight Attendant qualification will have CJX indicated on the priority list. Even if they are on the priority list ahead of a CJ they are to be accommodated only after all CJs have been accommodated on the flight. Section 37.G.1.
 
Can a Envoy/PSA/Piedmont Flight Attendant be issued the cabin jumpseat ahead of a mainline AA Flight Attendant if they are listed higher on the priority list?

No. Mainline FAs will be accommodated in priority list order prior to Flight Attendants from wholly owned regional carriers (Envoy, PSA and Piedmont).

Flight Attendants from wholly owned regional carriers will have a CJEAG indicated on the priority list.  Even if they are on the priority list ahead of a CJ they are to be accommodated only if all CJs have been accommodated on the flight.  Section 37.G.1.

MobileCCI and MobileFOS Update for Apple Users - LAA

Beginning November 2, 2015, the current versions of mobileCCI and mobileFOS apps on Apple mobile devices will need to be updated. This is due to Apple’s user agreement expiring and the app needing to be refreshed. Your FA tablet, as well as any personal non-Apple devices, will not need to be updated. 

What are the necessary steps to perform the update on your Apple mobile device?

1. Update to the latest available versions of mobileCCI and mobileFOS: 

2. You will be prompted to enter your employee number and Jetnet password. These are the same credentials you will use to open the app once you’ve downloaded it to your device.  

Please keep in mind that downloading the new version of the mobileCCI app will delete any documents and schedule information that was saved within the app. Again, this does not affect the FA tablet.  

If after downloading the new version of the mobileCCI app you continue to receive an error message, you must then delete the old provisioning profile from your Apple mobile device. To remove the old profile, go to the device Settings > General > Profiles > American Airlines and remove the profile set to expire on Nov. 2nd.

Returning to Work from Leave of Absence (LOA) - LUS

Effective immediately, all Return to Work letters will be sent to your AA email address. These letters contain information regarding bidding, benefits and other important matters. So when on a Leave of Absence, continue to check your @aa.com email inbox frequently.
